SINISTRALITY
My father's father, Fillmore Munson Dobbs, was left-handed.My father, Fillmore Victor Dobbs, was left-handed.
My uncle Hamish Dobbs, (F.M. Dobbs' son from a later re-marriage, and considerably younger than me) is left-handed.
And I am left -handed.
I don't know about my dad's sister, Ann Nita, or his brother, Bruce. I seem to remember that perhaps Bruce is a lefty as well.
I'm nominally a true lefty, but do an awful lot of detail work with the right hand; I'm nearly ambidextrous. For instance, my visual art comes out of the left hand, and my lead musical-instrument-playing-hand is my right, for drumming and picking strings, and so on.
I remember getting a bit of static from educators about it in grade school, but luckily didn't go through the kind of re-training that some sinistral kids endured.
So, bear in mind that we'll be reading this text from left to right, and you'll be able to follow along OK.
